Parenting Doesn't Come With a Manual… But Support Should

Parenting can be one of the most rewarding roles we ever take on, but it can also come with an enormous number of questions.
Is this normal?
Should I be concerned?
Who can I talk to about this?
What other options are available?
Where do I even start?
For many parents, finding the right support isn't necessarily about a lack of information. Sometimes, it's the opposite.
There is so much information available that working out what is relevant to your child, who to trust and what options actually exist can become overwhelming.
And when every child is different, there is rarely one answer that suits every family.
Sometimes You Don't Know What You Don't Know

One of the biggest challenges for parents is simply knowing what support is available.
There are incredible practitioners, services, resources, products and approaches supporting children and families across Australia, but unless you already know what you are searching for, they can be difficult to discover.
You might know your child needs some extra support, but not know which type of practitioner could help.
You might be looking for another approach to complement the support you already have.
Or perhaps everything is going well and you simply want to be proactive about supporting your child's wellbeing as they grow.
Having access to different options gives families the opportunity to explore, ask questions and make informed choices about what feels right for them.
A New Parent Hub Bringing Support Together
This is the idea behind the Holistic Kids Parent Hub, a growing Australian resource designed to make it easier for parents and carers to discover holistic options for children and families.
Rather than expecting parents to search in ten different places, the Parent Hub brings support, information and connection together in one space.
Parents will be able to:
Discover holistic practitioners, products and resources
Save favourite practitioners, products and resources to revisit later
Attend monthly practitioner led sessions exploring real parenting topics
Receive parenting insights and updates
Explore different approaches to children's wellbeing at their own pace
Access a growing collection of family resources
The aim isn't to tell parents how they should raise their children.
It's to help parents understand what options are available, so they can make informed decisions for their own family.
Looking at the Whole Child
Children's wellbeing is rarely about just one thing.
Physical health can affect emotions. Emotional wellbeing can influence learning. Social connection can affect confidence. Stress can show up physically. What is happening at school can influence what happens at home.
Holistic Kids looks at children through five interconnected pillars of health:
🧡 Physical
🧡 Emotional
🧡 Cognitive
🧡 Social
🧡 Spiritual
Looking at the whole child can help families recognise where additional support might be helpful, rather than focusing solely on one symptom, behaviour or challenge.
It also reminds us that wellbeing isn't only something we think about when something goes wrong.
We can give children tools, knowledge and support throughout childhood that they can carry with them into adulthood.
Support Without the Pressure to Get Everything Perfect
Perhaps one of the most important parts of the Parent Hub is that it isn't about creating another standard parents feel they have to live up to.
There is already enough pressure to parent perfectly.
The Parent Hub is designed to be a place to explore.
Read something.
Attend a session.
Discover a practitioner you didn't know existed.
Save a resource for later.
Ask a question.
Take what is useful for your family and leave what isn't.
Sometimes one new piece of information can open the door to an option you hadn't previously considered.
